Changed /stand filesystem type

What if a user has changed the filesystem type of /stand to vxfs, can I still boot my HP-UX 11iv3 system? Will it be possible to change it back to hfs?

/stand vxfs would work.

In 11.23 only they are supporting to have /stand file system in hfs or vxfs. Before that it was having /stand in hfs only.

correct me if I'm wrong, but are you asking if it's pa-risc or ia-64? unfortunately it's still pa-risc

hey torsten,

i think this is not right. well it's only a test machine but I have another machine with /stand as hfs only. i think you can only use vxfs for /stand if you're using ia-64

I believe, like Sasha, that /stand is required to be an HFS file system on PARisc because the boot loader requires this.

Only if the box is Itanium can /stand be vxfs.

Now the question about trying to turn a file system backwards.....mmmmm...I don't think so, but I may be mistaken. It is my understanding that moving a file system forward on version is a noway back. Unless of course you rebuild the box from recovery that is prior to changing the f/s.
