Changing the password after the first login

I added a user and with the command chage -d 0 [username] I forced the user to change the password after the first login. But when the user logged in for the first time instead of appearing the prompt to change the password the Terminal was closed...

why this happen...Can Anyone help me, please??

Re: Changing the password after the first login

Are you using ssh to connect ot the server.

If so then because you have an expired password the session gets reset before you are prompted to enter any password.
