Cimserver process at 100%

This morning I noticed our rx3600 server (with B.11.23) had the cimserver process briefly running at 100%. I haven't noticed this before and I haven't seen it again while checking it for the last hour or so.

I'm assuming this is a once off, but I thought I'd ask if anyone had seen this before and what might have caused it?

Thanks

Re: Cimserver process at 100%

I've seen this too.

The cimserver process is known to leak memory and/or file descriptors in some situations unless properly patched.

Run a search on ITRC patch database on 11.23 and keyword "cimserver" to see.

It is not mentioned explicitly, but my theory is that the leak may cause the cimserver to eventually run out of file descriptors and enter into some sort of infinite loop. Stopping and restarting the cimserver cures the immediate problem, but patches are needed to prevent its re-occurrence.

Re: Cimserver process at 100%

Hello,

I got that a few months ago. We installed HP Storage Essentials, and the cimserver eating up 100% was present on some hosts that has that.

FYI
