Cluster Package conf required to be included or not

Hi,

I have one Hp N4000 server with HP-UX 11.00 installed in it. I changed my cluster lock disk at the same hardware address and i did not have the vgcfgbackup of it in a 2 node cluster. Now, i am going to reapply the cluster configuration.

But my question is, do i need to run the cmapplyconf with package's conf file also, or only cluster ascii files will do the needful will edit only cluster configuration in the current cmclconfig and package will start and work automatically.

thanks

Re: Cluster Package conf required to be included or not

Hi

u can do

1) halt the cluster.
2) vgcfgrestore on that disk.
3) cmcheckconf and cmapplyconf for the cluster ascii file only shall do.

But why do not you have a vgcfgbackup file for that VG? you can find on the nodes in the /etc/lvmconf/.conf or /etc/lvmconf/.conf.old.

I hope the device file in the Cluster ascii file remains the same, then do a vgcfgrestore on the disk and do a cmcheckconf of the cluster ascii file and cmapplyconf.

Re: Cluster Package conf required to be included or not

You have to cmchecmconf and cmapplyconf.
the cluster needs to know the new disk.

if not done, then cmquercl may not be correct and may give errors
