Configuration of DNS-BIND

Hello

I want to configure DNS-BIND of my server Tru64 v5.1B en slave mode (the master DNS is Windows Server 2003).

Which files must i configure so that my Unix server questions the Windows Master server ?

Best regards

Re: Configuration of DNS-BIND

Hi,

Name servers are defined in /etc/resolv.conf

You may also need to modify /etc/svc.conf and/or /etc/nsswitch.conf to control the order in which hosts are looked up.

Cheers,

Re: Configuration of DNS-BIND

apart from manually editing files you can use "sysman dns" or "sysman dns_client" to configure dns on this host.
(equiv to : Sysman -> Networking -> Additional Network Services -> Domain Name Service (DNS(BIND))-> Configure system as a DNS server/client)
