Configure DDS4 with hpux 11.11

Hello

I need configure DDS4 tape with hpux 11.11,
#ioscan -fn
#insf -C tape
But only configure default tape drive, no read tapes dds4.

Fail tar -xvf and frecover

do You have the stape driver in Your kernel?

Also, could You possibly show what ioscan -fnkCtape and ioscan -fnkd stape return?

does dmesg show the tape being detected after adding it?

Hi Rene,

You need not to configure anything. Only thing is that make sure tye stape in driver is in. You can go to sam->kernal parameters->drivers.

If you have connected your dds4 properly and showing in ioscan, it will work(If your DDS4 is good)

Is this an external DDS4 drive? There are several SCSI versions and some are simply incompatible. Make sure your DDS4 interface matches the SCSI bus where you connect the cable. If ioscan -fCtape does not see the drive, it is not functioning or it is incompatible.

Hi Rene

Make sure stape driver is IN. You do not have to do antything else. Functionality of DDS4 drive is then dependendant on its hardware.
