Configure rlogin
Hi,
I have 5 HPUX servers. 1, 2 and 3 are HP9000 RP7410 servers and 4 and 5 are Itanium RX6600 servers. From server 1, 2 and 3 I can rlogin to all other servers. However when I want to rlogin from 4 or 5 to any other server I get the login prompt. I've already tried with .rhosts, hosts.equiv but that gives no results.
Has anyone any idea what I do wrong?
Thanx
Karin

Tried _WHAT_?

Has anyone (who is not a psychic) any idea
what you did?
What's in your ".rhosts" files? Where are
they? Ownership and permissions? ("ls -l"
can be helpful.) Hint: Actual names may be
more helpful than identifications like "4 or
5".

Re: Configure rlogin
Let's start with the basics. If you have hosts.equiv set up, the only reason you would want to use .rhosts is for root access as hosts.equiv does not work for root.
So, assuming each of these 5 hosts has a /etc/hosts.equiv file, the simplest way is to make those files the same and have each one contain all five host names. Once you get that working, you can then work on any refinements desired.
