Connecting a EVA disk array directly to RP4440

I am trying to connect a AD542C loaded with 146GB FC drives to an RP4440 (HP-UX11i v3) via an A6795A. Problem is I cannot see the disk array, only the interface card. I have tried different cards, different cables, different AD542C's but no visability. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Re: Connecting a EVA disk array directly to RP4440

Have you defined LUNs on the EVA and presented them to the server?

You will not see the individual disks only LUNs after they have been created and presented.

AD542C?

This is a M5314C - the disk drive enclosure of an EVA 4100/6100/8100 - but NOT an EVA!

This does not work!

This drive enclosure must be part of an EVA!

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Connecting a EVA disk array directly to RP4440

What I am trying to do (using my available equipment) is to hook up 2 x rp4440's and attach each to a separate disk array with some 146GB FC drives inside. I just happen to have 2 x AD542C's. I  want to use them as JBOB nothing fancy.   I do have backend switch (XL852 - 408514-001) and AD524C switch's.  Thank You
