Connection to printer is down
I am having problems with the printers attached to my HPUX. Nobody can print through any of them
Printers are created as remote printers and the Baseline is 10.20
When I do lpstat, I get the following:
connection to 10.15.165.168 is down
connection to 10.15.165.209 is down
connection to 10.15.165.192 is down
and so on with all the printers, however I can ping them.
I have restarted the scheduler and check the syslog but I cannot see anything wrong.
I also checked the inetd.conf and /etc/services and everything seems to be all right.
The port 515 is listening but there are not any connections
# netstat -an|grep 515
tcp 0 0 *.515 *.* LISTEN
I┬┤d appreciate if someone could give me any clues
Thanks
Alberto

Re: Connection to printer is down
Try this command to confirm if you are able to reach the printer queue.
#telnet

Re: Connection to printer is down
where do you get the message
'connection to 10.15.165.192 is down'?
Server or client?
Sometimes it works to disable and then enable a printer.

Re: Connection to printer is down
you get the messages at the server, but
>Printers are created as remote printers
this is hopefully only at the clients?
A 'lpstat -t' from the server would be nice.

Re: Connection to printer is down
Anyway the command lpstat -t showed all the printers and then connection to 10.15.165.168 is down, connection to 10.15.165.209 is down,
connection to 10.15.165.192 is down and so on
Anyway, now it is working again.
Thanks to all that replied
