Continuous Access replication and SAN boot question
Continuous Access replication and SAN boot question
when a box boots from SAN, say boots using LUN1 on site A, and that LUN1 is being replicated through Continuous Access to a remote site as LUN2 on site B, if a replication break occurs in the middle when the remote box on site B boots using LUN2 would the FS that were originally mounted on LUN1 when the replication broke would appear as dirty or clean?
Thanks for clearing this one up for me

Re: Continuous Access replication and SAN boot question
Any filesystem that hasn't been cleanly unmounted would be marked as dirty. So if the filesystem on LUN1 was mounted when the replication was suspended, then the filesystems on LUN2 would need to be fsck'd before mounting.
