Re: Crash boot on ES45
Are you sure the console parameter "bootdef_dev" still points to the correct disk device ?
When did you boot from CD, did you check that root_domain#root was still intact ?
What was missing ?
did you try >>>b -fl s -fi genvmunix ?

Re: Crash boot on ES45
Guess you executed an "rm *" in / !!??
Again, when you boot from CD, and mount the root fileset on /mnt, what files are in /mnt/etc ?
To get around missing sysconfigtab, I believe you can boot with
>>> b -fl sc -fi genvmunix

Re: Crash boot on ES45
cp -R /etc/* /mnt/etc/
next I mounted also var and copy files like above.
Now, if I boot normaly (from dka0) boot repeat me a message
no vmunix module_list
and if I boot with -fl s -fl genvmunix I don't know what parameter is needed to enter when asking me so after return (whitout any option) repeat me a message
can't open /etc/sysconfigtab.38
What I doing wrong?
Thank you

Re: Crash boot on ES45
instead b -fl s -fi genvmunix
I enter b -fl s -fl genvmunix
so that is why it asked me for option.
Sorry...

SolutionIf files are missing like that, anywhere in all the filesystems, you migth have a crontab entry with a bad script that does a "find and rm" in several directories.
You better restore your system from a vdump, or if no backup, re-install.
Copying from the distribution CD does not create a supported system.
