I don't know what that means. What, exactly,
are you trying to do?

I can't see them.

What, exactly, does "not working" mean here.
As usual, showing actual data and actual
commands with their actual output can be
more helpful than vague descriptions and
interpretations.

Re: Create a Port on Tru64
Actually i want to use this port 4850 for tcpwrappers. i want to enable a port so that the system can listen thru the port.
Please find the below outputs.
sizer -v
HP Tru64 UNIX V5.1B (Rev. 2650); Thu Apr 16 20:20:10 AST 2009
i made the following enteries in /etc/services and /etc/inetd.conf
OraSyslog 4850/tcp #Oracle Syslog Agent
Orasyslog stream tcp nowait root /usr/bin/tcpd /tmp/Syslog/alertlog.ksh
even after restarting the inetd services by inetd -h not able to telnet the port 4850. The error i am getting is "connection refused"

That looks harmless.

Why?
"/usr/bin/tcpd"? So you're using TCP
Wrapper? I know nothing, but have you
looked at the TCP Wrapper configuration
file, "/usr/internet/security/config.tcp"?
Google found this:
http://h30097.www3.hp.com/docs/iass/OSIS_67/admin/ch09.html
Does "/tmp/Syslog/alertlog.ksh" exist? Can
you run it manually?
I would not place anything important under
"/tmp". "tmp" is short for "temporary".
If this is some Oracle-related thing, what
does the Oracle documentation say about it?
