Created depot on cdrom

I created a cdrom with some depot files on it using Roxio on my PC. When I mount the cd on a HPUX server, using the -o cdcase option, it shortens the name of the files inserting the ~ character.
Will this cause any problems ??

Re: Created depot on cdrom

Hi, Mike.

I suppose that you are saying that you copied some '.depot' files to the CDROM. In such a case you should not have any problems because you will need to copy those files to your host and do the rest of the process there.

On the other hand, if you copied a SD registered depot tree to the D, then you are in trouble...

Javier.

Re: Created depot on cdrom

Mike,

You should create your CD with ISO9660 and Rock Ridge extensions. Then, on HP-UX side, mount -F cdfs -o rr /dev/cXtYdZ /cdrom

Maybe RockRidge was a default, so try the mount command line before burning again.

Fred

Re: Created depot on cdrom

Hi Mike,

Try the rock-ridge extention to mount the cd and check and see if the "~" characters are still there.

If you don't have the rock-ridge support for cdrom patchs on the system, download and install the same.

For 11.0
PHCO_26449
PHKL_26450
PHKL_28060

for 11.11
PHCO_25841
PHKL_26269
PHKL_28025

Then use the -o rr option with the mount command to mount the cdrom.

Hope this helps.
