Customized OS creation

Hi There
I do not want to install my hp-ux 11.31 OS and i want to customize the packaged and the create a customized DVD of that .
What should i do???????

I read this as.. You would like to install some software. Then create a DVD ? ( not a lot to work with here ).

Unless you provide some examples or specifics I would first say that swpackage is what you need. This allows you to create a swagentd depot of software. Once created you can copy to whatever medium you like and use swinstall to install it.

If you are talking an entire customized image of the HPUX system then I would suggest creating an Ignite image of the system will all customizations. This can then be used to clone to other systems.

the title of the thread seems to contradict the description you've provided.

I believe Tim may be on the correct path. The assumption is that you want to create a depot of one or more existing depots and place that on a DVD for distribution. Is that a correct description of what you want to do?

Shalom,

Golden images is the tool of choice for what you ask.

It creates a pax .gz file, which sits on disk.

In general, this would be too large to fit on a dvd.

In this case i would, Install an OS to Server with out any (as per your) additional packages
once done,

make_tape_recovery / make_net_recovery

either by tape / Ignite server to take that time image OS .
