DHCP

Hello All,

Is there a way to exclude a particular MAC/client in DHCP configuration? something like MAC filtering.

i have a dhcp server who assigns ip to 100+ systems. now i dont want this dhcp server to assign ip address to couple systems.

i'm looking for tips to achieve this with changes to DHCP configuration on server. No changes on client side.

Re: DHCP

No, you can not.

You can assign allways the same IP address to an specific mac, and you should choose an IP which is not in the same range the other clients.

Re: DHCP

You could use iptables on the server to drop the UDP packets for DHCP requests from those specific MAC addresses. Then dhcpd wouldn't even see the requests.
