DL160G5 SAS HBA config utility?
Hello,
I have a DL160G5 with the standard hot-plug LSILogic SAS1064E card in it with a single-drive RAID 1. That is, one of the drives I received was DOA. I've managed to create the RAID 1 even though it was, of course, immediately degraded. Now I've returned the drive and received a new one and tried to insert it, assuming it would be picked up by the HBA and it would start reconstructing the array. Unfortunately it has not done this, and instead has given me a new drive to use in linux, of course called 'sdb'.
With the smartarrays, there's a nice utility called 'hpacucli' that I can use to rectify situations like these (although of course a smartarray wouldn't have given me this problem, they are 'smart' after all) but I cannot for the life of me find something that will do this with the LSI card.
Does anyone have an idea? I must add I'm on Debian Etch.
This is what mpt-statusd tells me every hour:
root@websrv06:~/usr/local/bin# mpt-status
ioc0 vol_id 0 type IM, 2 phy, 148 GB, state DEGRADED, flags ENABLED
ioc0 phy 1 scsi_id 1 ATA GB0160EAFJE HPG0, 149 GB, state ONLINE, flags NONE
ioc0 phy 0 scsi_id 255 , 149 GB, state MISSING, flags OUT_OF_SYNC
