DNS server changed to Microsoft AD server
Hi All,
I had a HP UX server running the DNS and DHCP services. We moved our file server system to Microsoft exchange AD and set the DNS and DHCP services on that server. Since then, my Oracle applications services (listener etc) have not started on the unix system. I can ping the unix server host name and hostname.domain from any system and the unix system itself.
What changes do I need to make? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: DNS server changed to Microsoft AD server
Shalom,
I recommend you set up /etc/hosts networking for important Unix and windows servers and change the order in nsswitch.conf to files first.
/etc/hosts # example
192.168.0.10 server1.yourdomain.com server1
At the very least the system needs an entry for itself in /etc/hosts or connections might slow down rather badly. That is due to all that high quality microsoft software you guys are using.
