DNSService error HP UX 11.31

Dears
I have HP UX 11.31
when openning SMH I found a minor error in the network information part
it say this
CIM_ERR_FAILED: DNSService: configuration file is corrupt.

any help will beappreciated

the DNS file nsswitch.conf is created under /etc and have this value
hosts : files dns

so why it gives that it is corrupted

Hello,

Two files are critical for hostname resolution
on standard servers (those that do not run
DNS server themselves):

/etc/nsswitch.conf
/etc/resolv.conf

Are both of those files OK on your server?

I have got the same issue.
Both files seems to be correct.

root@CLM01 [/etc]# cat nsswitch.conf
hosts: files

root@CLM01 [/etc]# cat resolv.conf
domain xxxxxx.xxx


Any further ideas?

Actually, both files seem to be incomplete.

Here is what I would expect to see in your files:

a) /etc/nsswitch.conf

passwd: files
group: files
hosts: files dns
ipnodes: files
services: files
networks: files
protocols: files
rpc: files
publickey: files
netgroup: files
automount: files
aliases: files

b) /etc/resolv.conf

domain mydom.dom
nameserver IP1
nameserver IP2
nameserver IP3

resolv.conf can have other statements,
but these are used most of the time...

The nsswitch wasn't the reason, but the SMH does not work without DNS Servers in the resolv.conf.

Now is everything fine again!
