DRD clone errors (lvlnboot: logical volume must be contiguous)
I wonder if anybody has encountered this problem.
I'm trying to clone the vg00 volume group and am getting this error related to contiguous logical volume. You would think since the target is 146GB and the source is 72GB, this would not be a problem. Here's the output:
birch:/# drd clone -x overwrite=true -x ignore_unmounted_fs=true -v -t /dev/dsk/c1t2d0

Re: DRD clone errors (lvlnboot: logical volume must be contiguous)
This is not a DRD problem, this is a system problem. Somehow the mandatory contiguous design of lvol1 has been modified. Possibly someone (a root user) has used the pvmove command. If lvol1 is not contiguous, you will have problems booting this system. lvol1 needs to be repaired -- DRD is just letting you know.

Re: DRD clone errors (lvlnboot: logical volume must be contiguous)
Why would you do that? That can have very severe consequences. Your system may not boot correctly at some point in the future with this configuration.

Re: DRD clone errors (lvlnboot: logical volume must be contiguous)
Never do this.
The system may or may not boot in normal mode; but it will probably never be able to boot into maintenance mode in case of emergency.
Create and restore an ignite backup in order to have a supported and healthy system again!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
