Re: DVD H/W path not found

The path is by default

1/0/0/3/1.2.0

can you try to boot from directly?

Hope this helps!

Re: DVD H/W path not found

Because you have 2 partitions, you are now on the partition without the internal DVD - it is connected to the other partition.

You will need another DVD drive.

Hope this helps!

Re: DVD H/W path not found

We do have second DVD for this partition. I was able to use this DVD driver when I boot on HPUX 11.11.

Re: DVD H/W path not found

So you need to check the external drive, cable and terminator.

Your devices listed are the internal disks, fiber channel HBAs and 2 tapes.

Hope this helps!

Re: DVD H/W path not found

Since we do not do VPARs on HPUX here, what I am going to suggest is going to be virtual but could you possible swap the DVD drives using VPAR management tools. You might have a bad DVD drive hardware-wise. Especially if it showed up in previous boot times and not showing up right now, it might have gone bad.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: DVD H/W path not found

Shalom,

Check into the vitural drive and see that the external one you have hooked up is supported by HP-UX. Most are not supported as boot devices.

Re: DVD H/W path not found

hi, guy,

DVD are working fine when I boot from disk OS HPUX 11.11.

The rp7420 setup as nPAR partition 0 & 1.
par 0 have external SCSI DVD and par 1 have internal DVD. Is rp7420 only able to boot from internal DVD? Is this true?

Thanks
