Day light savings

Hi Gurus,

I have an issue now... I haven't checked the server yet...... during this day light savings period do I need do any maintaince work on the server.. and if so ... what should i do..

plz advise

I am not sure if the timings will change automatically or not... Or do I need to do any upload any patches

I have 11.23 + Integrity servers

well... I think i did not made myself clear...

what does a unix administrator do on when there is a day light savings....

he had installed 11.23 on a brand new server and oracle 10g is runing on it.. he or I did not install anything related to this dayloght..

So do i/he need to do antthing .......

The USA DST patches have been out for years. If it changed automatically in March, it would have worked this morning.

No need to think, just mention the most recent (October) tztab(4) patch:

You were quite clear. But I have only ideas that a HP-UX administrator does.
And that is make sure tztab(4) patches are up to date and possibly reboot for long running demons.

No patches or quality bundles?
And if you didn't have the patch, your times would have been broken last week and you would have noticed it.

For DST patch is there (PHCO_38962) download the patch install it Reboot is not required for the same, after installation forget all the things, this patch will take care everyting.
before install this patch read carefully Special Installation Instructions:

Hi Garyh,
Please install the latest DST Patch: PHCO_35990 if you are using Hp-Ux 11.23.
You Dont have to reboot the Server for this.

The Patch will automatically change the System time at the DST change.

Please let us know if this has fixed your problem.

Why would you want to suggest a patch that isn't the latest nor the recommended one? And worst of all, it has a patch warning on it.

If you haven't checked the server, then how do you know you even have an issue????

Or did you mean you saw a problem, but don't know how to deal with it?

and you might want to list OS and the timezone that is a problem....(if there is a problem that is)
