Re: Difference between ISL> ,and HPUX>

Hello,

ISL means Initial System Loader. It is only available on PA-RISC systems and its function is to load the "HPUX" program. This is the ISL> prompt.

The HPUX program itself (HPUX> prompt) is the HP-UX bootstrap utility and its purpose is to load HPUX kernel from /stand filesystem.

Hope this briefly explains your question.
