Disabling monitoring of stopped LAN interfaces in SMH
After upgrading WBEM-LAN and SMH a new option is available: "Link Down Status Included?"
But when i'm trying to set "Ignore Status" i'm getting Setting failed: CIM_ERR_FAILED: PGS13602: Lost connection with cimprovagt "HPUXLANCSProviderModule". (Screenshot attached)
Software versions:
HP-UX 11.31
SysMgmtPlus A.02.00.04.02
SysMgmtWeb A.3.0.1.1
WBEMSvcs A.02.09
WBEMP-LAN-00 B.11.31.0909
Any ideas?

Re: Disabling monitoring of stopped LAN interfaces in SMH
What did you do last is the usual suspect.
You probably have a software fault. You should report it to HP response center, an ITRC thread is great but is not a report.
Then wait for the new version. Even if you don't have a software contract, if there is a workaround they will probably share that with you.

Re: Disabling monitoring of stopped LAN interfaces in SMH
cimprovider -l -s | grep HPUXLANCSProviderModule
You could also try to restart the whole CIM-stuff with
/sbin/init.d/cim_server stop && /sbin/init.d/cim_server start
I can't confirm that it works for me as I don't install SMH on my systems. (for religious reasons ;-)

Re: Disabling monitoring of stopped LAN interfaces in SMH
When I opened a case a few months ago for the "status Minor" issue they told me the feature was coming to disable it in SMH. And that some customers resorted to plugging in cables. Now I know who ;-)
There is also another way to disable the interface with a tool called "mibinfo", but you need to contact HP support to get it.
