Disaster Recovery Document - Application finding

Hi,
I am in the process of preparing disaster recovery document for the critical production servers. I have gathered some info on what points to be present in a disaster recovery document. But i require still some more inputs to create full fledged fool-proof DR document. Please share your inputs about the worst scenarios possible in HP-UX B.11.23.

Also i need to find the application running on them. Is there any way to find the appplications in hpux.

thanks!!

regards,
sanwin

Re: Disaster Recovery Document - Application finding

Shalom,

For good input you'd have to say what you are using the servers for.

I would plan for the following scenarios:

* Total loss of data center. Start up your operations at DR site with your successor. That means you are (sorry to be morbid) unavailable. You need to include all instructions and customizations required to run your shop.

* Major natural disaster. Same scenario except you are alive and can provide input.

To list depot applications.

swlist -l product

ps -ef
# To list all applications running on system. Then trace the daemons back to the applications with the which and what command.

There is no complete system for inventorying your system.

Except if you you kept good notes along the way on what you installed.
