Hello,
One of the EVA LUNs presented to our UNIX server(HP-UX 11.31) has been detected as failed due to one of hard drives failure. The failed drive has been replaced and LUN has been re-created.
The situation on the server is as follows:
disk 70 64000/0xfa00/0x25 esdisk NO_HW DEVICE HP HSV200
/dev/disk/disk70 /dev/rdisk/disk70
FS /var/opt/ignite is not accesible and cannot be unmounted:
vgchange -a n /dev/vgignite
vgchange: Couldn't deactivate volume group "/dev/vgignite":
Device busy
rmsf -H 64000/0xfa00/0x25
Device at 64000/0xfa00/0x25 is busy. Cannot remove.
Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Disk shows NO_HW
Locate the document
scsimgr
SCSI Management and Diagnostics utility on HP-UX 11i v3
and follow the LUN replacement instructions.
OR
just reboot the server.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Disk shows NO_HW
I went through the document, but there is no scenario there with the disk that shows NO_HW.
I ran scsimgr get_info all_lpt -H 64000/0xfa00/0x25
and the SCSI services internal state = FAILED for all 4 Lun paths.

SolutionValidating online replacement of devices and SAN reconfigurations
you need to run the
scsimgr replace_wwid
command.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Disk shows NO_HW
Thank you , Torsten.
Asked the LUN to be unpresented and presented back. Was able to see the the message in syslog which instance to replace and ran scsimgr replace_wwid.
