Re: Disk2 with 0 MB (HP-UX 11.11)

looks like someone has marked the disk as used (who knows what for?) If you are *sure* its not being used, just highlight the disk in SAM and then go to Actions->Unmount - that should clear the "xyz" status in the "Use" column.

But I would be completely sure its not in use before doing this...

Re: Disk2 with 0 MB (HP-UX 11.11)

Hi,

Just now finished fresh HP-UX installation successfully, But his disk give me a problem with 0 MB. and there is no /unmount option in SAM-ACTIONS ...

Iam only worried about how to get full 73GB which is presently not avaialbe with DISK 2 ( present MB 0) .

Need a valuable input to clear this issue ......

Hi Akif,

Please try with "insf -e" and then check thru
ioscan command

Hello,

Find an ioscan output after insf -e.

Re: Disk2 with 0 MB (HP-UX 11.11)

May be H/W problem with disk. May be physical damage / faulty.

Re: Disk2 with 0 MB (HP-UX 11.11)

Hi Sudhakar,

There is no AMBER LED , It means no question of hard ware failure / fault.

Re: Disk2 with 0 MB (HP-UX 11.11)

I would not assume you don't have a hardware problem just beacuse there's no amber LED on the drive... First question is, can you read the drive without error?

dd if=/dev/rdsk/c3t5d0 of=/dev/null bs=1024

That will take a good while to complete...
(maybe several hours)

if that doesn't run to completion without error, you probably have a hardware problem...
