I have a 9000 rp4410 box with 11.v2.
When i try to restore the OS for Ignite Tape, i am not able to get the display through the MP Console. . Display looking like zig zag letters, due to some display configuration problem. Please help me sort out the Problem

which program are you using for connection to the console ???
putty / securecrt / reflection / hyperterminal ??
is the console serial / LAN.
which type of terminal emulation are you using ??

Set the Terminal type to hpterm using GSP/MP command.

You may need to set "vt100" as a terminal type in GSP/MP settings.

Before starting the restoration, the display is OK, But when the restoration is started i am getting problem in display. Any problem ignite tape..?.

We can set the vt100 in system or user profile. But i dont know how set the vt100 in MP , Can u pls guid me

SolutionThis is explained in the mentioned link.
How to Set the GSP Terminal Type:
Access the GSP through the lan console, the remote-modem port, or a physically connected terminal.
Use the CA command at the GSP prompt to modify the console attributes:
GSP> ca
Answer ├в y├в (yes) to indicate that you want to change the console port settings:
Do you want to modify the Local Console Serial Port settings? (Y/[N]) y
Answer ├в n├в (no) to the questions about modifying the ├в Serial Port bit rate├в and the ├в Current Flow Control├в
Current Local Console Serial Port bit rate: 9600 bits/s
Do you want to modify it? (Y/[N]) nCurrent Flow Control: SoftwareDo you want to modify it? (Y/[N]) nIndicate which terminal type you want to use, then answer ├в y├в (yes) to confirm your change:
Enter Terminal Type ([Vt100] / Hpterm):
New Terminal Type: hpterm
Confirm? (Y/[N]): y
-> Terminal Type will be updated.
Answer n (no) to the question about updating the ├в Remote Console Serial Port Modem settings├в :
Do you want to modify the Remote Console Serial Port Modem settings? (Y/[N]) n
You will see a message indicating the command execution will take a few seconds and then a message indicating that your settings have been updated.
