Don't see vdisk in EVA30000 from rp3440

Hi all,
I have 1 EVA3000, 02 rp3440 servers, and 8 ports SAN switch (have not yet installed Secure Path). After creating Vdisk and presenting hosts to vdisk correctly (present hosts by WWN, choose correct OS HP-UX 11.11) and there 's no abnormal signals in the procedure. But when I ioscan -fnC disk , servers do not show Vdisk I created.

Needs your help, Thanks

HiTuan,

Pls provide the #fcmsutil output for the hosts on your server. Its only seems like a connectivity problem.

You need to install the secure path. That is a must.

I can't get to my notes just now, but I think you may be missing an: insf -e

Hi Tuen,

Yes if you haven't done insf, it wont create the device files. So you wont see the new luns.

do the following.

#ioscan -f
#insf -e
#ioscan -fnC disk

And if you are presenting luns from EVA the first time in this server you will need a reboot.

Re: Don't see vdisk in EVA30000 from rp3440

Thanks all,
This morning, I used CMV to change Reference attribute of Vdisk from No reference to Path B failover/failback and then rebooted servers. After that, Vdisks are showed in my servers.
I don't know what solution is rebooting servers or changing Reference of Vdisk?
