Driver for FC1142SR
We try to bring up a DL585 with RHEL5 and connect to our MSA1500.
We have two FC1142SR included (I think, I am not sure, its the HP MSA1500 SAN SCSI Starter G2 Kit).
I know tried to install the drivers I found on the HP page.
hp_qla2x00src-8.01.07.16-2.linux.rpm
fibreutils-2.3-7.linux.x86_64.rpm
The installation is fine, but after rebooting the system I got a kernel panic because the internal disks could not be found.
Where is my mistake?
Are the drivers correct?
Thanks for any help!
Greetings

Re: Driver for FC1142SR
I'm going through this on the QLOGIC 2432 card which has a few names other than that.
I have it working and offer the following advice:
1) Boot the system into rescue mode and change /boot/grub/grub.conf and see if the boot kernel has been changed. Reverse any changes thus far and boot of the previous kernel. The process you initiated probably did a mkinitrd that built a faulty kernel.
2) PSP 7.90 from HP. Do the full install and reboot.
I'm in process building a 64 bit cluster with very similar hardware. My next work day is Sunday and I'll look back in on this and try and render more assistance.

Re: Driver for FC1142SR
For RHEL5, FC1142SR Bios required minimum version is 1.26.
Log a HP Support Ticket to verify above.
Thanks

Re: Driver for FC1142SR
We install PSP 7.90 and get connectivity. We had to play around a bit but it seems to be able to work.

Re: Driver for FC1142SR
Thank you for your replies.
1) I installed the drivers above again, booted into rescue mode and checked the grub.conf. I think this file is not modified. I looks the same like before.
2) I intalled the PSP7.90 from HP and run into the same problem -> krenel panik because no drives are found.
"For RHEL5, FC1142SR Bios required minimum version is 1.26"
What do you mean with this? Which BIOS do you mean?
My Serverbios is version 2.10.
My FibreChannel Bios (I see during the boot) is 1.09.
???
Thanks.
