hi,

the command for powerpath are the same.

powermt display dev=all

if you have mixed san enviroment clariion/symmetrix you could define a class

Re: EMC Powerpath

What is your OS version?
If you are using hp-ux 11.31 then it has its own multipathing solution.
If you have 11.23 or below version check any Powerpath software is installed:

# swlist EMCpower

to see devices
# powermt display dev=all

To see options
# powermt display options

Re: EMC Powerpath

EMC will claim all sorts of important reasons why you should use PP on 11.31 - you don't of course actually need it, and if you do use it you are limited to using the legacy DSFs rather than the new agile DSFs. If EMC can't come up with a show-stopper for byou, I'd suggest you save the money and just use the native MPIO stack.

To see if you have multiple paths to your EMC storage, first identify the DSFs of your EMC LUNs using:

ioscan -funNC disk

Then for each EMC disk take a look at the lunpaths the disk has to the array:

scsimgr lun_map -D /dev/rdisk/diskNN

You should see multiple active paths to the array.

Re: EMC Powerpath

hi.

if you are using hp-ux 11.31 you don't need to use powerpath.

Re: EMC Powerpath

You dont need powerpath on hp-ux 11.31 and i also understand from the below document you cant use powerpath on hp-ux 11.31

The document blow says:

PowerPath does not manage multi-pathing on HP-UX 11i v3. Native multi-pathing is used for EMC devices.
