EVA device file issue

Hi All,

We have a server with 4 FC card configured. form an EVA storage( eva 8000), storage team allocated a LUN to the server but they zoned only thru single FC card. But when we do insf -e on server , it shows two paths for the same disk. If we add two disks, it shows four and so on... May anyone please flash some light on this.

OS- 11.23 /Itanium

Eg:-
# evainfo -a -u GB | grep 10GB

/dev/rdsk/c17t7d1 5000-1FE1-500E-E780 6005-08B4-0007-1388-0002-5000-05CD-0000 10GB Ctl-B/FP-3/NonOptimized

/dev/rdsk/c17t8d1 5000-1FE1-500E-E780 6005-08B4-0007-1388-0002-5000-05CD-0000 10GB Ctl-A/FP-4/Optimized

In above , for c17 - it points to a single disks with two device driver.

Re: EVA device file issue

Shalom,

The EVA has redundant controllers to permit failover or load balancing.

There are two paths to every disk.
