Efect on mounted file system after doing changes in SAN zoning
Curretnly we are using default zoining in SAN switch Cisco MDS 9509, after adding secured zoning what will be the impact on mounted file system? File systems are created using Storage luns. Can we do this activity online in HP UX 11.23 v2?

Re: Efect on mounted file system after doing changes in SAN zoning
What I do know is that as longs as:
-the operations do not result in storage devices in the SAN getting new FCIDs
- new domain IDs are not assigned to the switches in the SAN
- HBAs and storage devices remain in the same zones
You should be OK.
If you're really unsure and can't get a staight answer then take some precautions anyway:
1. unmount the filesystems which are on SAN LUNs
2. Create VG map files using "vgexport -p -s -m vgNN.map /dev/vgNN"
3. Deactivate the VGs using "vgchange -a n /dev/vgNN"
4. Do your work on the SAN
5. Check whether disk devices have changed using ioscan/insf
6 If they have changed then vgexport/vgimport the VGs
