Error message when try to install QPK1100

Try to install QPK1100 on HP-UX 11.0 server. The following error message was noticed:
"=========================
QPK1100,r=B.11.00.54.7,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP" refers to a
bundle (or to a product, subproduct or fileset within a bundle). Only
some of the software specified could be selected. The messages below
show those items which could not be selected and those items which
were selected but generated a warning:
Could not apply the software selection

depot or root "ns2:/cdrom/SW/QPK110~1.DEP;1".

Does it mean that the packages mentioned above are missing from the depot file?

Any suggestion to correct the problem?

Thank you.

It looks like your CD is not mounted correctly - you have all these ;1 (versions)listed after each filename. Is it an original HP CD or one someone burned ? Normally HP CD's dont show these.

Try remounting with options;
mount -o cdcase

This should supress the version numbers and try installing the bundle then.

Re: Error message when try to install QPK1100

Thank you for your reply.

But the same message appears even I after I copied the file to the server!

Anyway, what is exact cause for such message and how to correct it?

Re: Error message when try to install QPK1100

The error message is:
PHKL_21276,r=1.0,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_64,v=HP";it is not available fro deport or root :ns2:/local/QPK1100_11_00.depot"..

Still depot file problem or something else?

Re: Error message when try to install QPK1100

Your file appears to be corrupted. How big is your depot file after copying it to your server ?

Ive checked one of mine here, its size is approx 180MB.

You should download it again from www.software.hp.com and after it downloads check its size is exactly what it is supposed to be (when you download it tells you how big it is).

Re: Error message when try to install QPK1100

Any idea where to get it? I tried to search it at www.software.hp.com. but I could not find it.

The release I am using is Quality Pack for HP-UX 11.00 (December 2000).

Re: Error message when try to install QPK1100

You can download from here;

http://www.software.hp.com/cgi-bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/displayProductInfo.pl?productNumber=QUALITYPACK

This will allow you to download the latest QPK bundle - which is much newer than your Dec2000 bundle but you should be using the latest bundle anyway.

Re: Error message when try to install QPK1100

First do a swlist to check your patch bundle is okay.

#swlist -d @ /tmp/QPK1100.depot

Then try installing

#swinstall -s /tmp/QPK1100.depot -x patch_match_target=true -x autoreboot=true

Thanks
