Expand / stand and /var

I want to expand the above 3 filesystems. I have taken a ignite backup and going to boot off the ignite tape to do this.

here are my questions.

1. we have some application codes under /opt and /usr which is under vg00. when i boot off the tapeand expand these 3 filesystems will these get erased?

2. After this i am going to run update-ux to upgrade to 11.23, when that happens i hope to retain the application codes under /usr and /opt (part of vg00), will those stay intact (and also /var, since all the products are there).

Please Advice.

Best Regards

Mike.

Re: Expand / stand and /var

Everything should be restored to exactly the state in which you backed it up. Unless you used some -x exclude options, all the file systems you're concerned about should be there.

Re: Expand / stand and /var

Hi

Shouldn't be a problem unless it not currently there and you can check for their existence with 'tar -tvf'.

What command syntax did you use to backup up the ignite image? / tape?
