Re: Extend Root filesystem

Take an ignite backup and extend during restore.

Hope this helps!

Re: Extend Root filesystem

Dear freind

Boot the system in single user mode and extend the root using the lvextend command and it will extend the root logical volume.

Make sure that the space to extend the root LV is available in the same disk as continuous physical extents because the root volume allocation poicy must be contigous.

thanks and regards

You said it already, it must be contiguous, so this will most likely not work.

Hope this helps!

Re: Extend Root filesystem

Shalom,

Primary issue here is the root fs must be contiguous. It can't be in two pieces. That is why HP support would advise you to manually intervene during the Ignite restore. This will let you lay down a bigger root fs.

But note as Bill Hassell do often does, that you should not have a lot of files on root fs. A couple of hundred meg is all you should need.

Significant files belong on a mounted file system.
