Extending root in a Mirrored Itanium Server .
I have a RX6600 server .
I have to extend root (mirrored ) . Space is avaliabe in vg00. Can it be done without using ignite-ux ?

"extend root". Do you mean the / file system? If so, no you cannot extended because it needs to be contiguous. Your extra space in vg00 comes after all the previously defined logical volumes so an extension of lvol3 would make it no longer contiguous.
Ignite is the way to go.

To add to Pete's comments. Why do you want/need to extend the '/' filesystem (if in fact that is your goal).
