Fiber channel card on hp11.00

try to install fiber channel card a3591b on hp d390 11.0 machine. baesd on hp docs, FC support is part of core o/s 11.00, only need to load fcT1_cntl, fcT, fcp drivers and process new kernwl. but i couldn't find them in kernel. installed patch PHKL_21834, still couldn't.
finally, was told that the reason is the system was upgraded, not clod install. and fibre channel support was deselected.
is that true?, if it is, how can i install specific component from core o/s?

You will *definitely* find a quick answer if you repost this in the HP-UX forum. The pirahna over there live for questions like this. Expected time to answer: 3 milliseconds.

Re: Fiber channel card on hp11.00

Have you tried using SAM to select the fibre channel drivers? Or, are you saying that these particular drivers are not available through SAM?

I will agree that the default kernel will not have fibre channel device drivers configured, regardless of whether you had a cold install or an upgrade.
