Filesharing issue on HPUX11.23

Dear Gurus,

i am trying to export a filesystem to client "war1" as read only (only this node should be able to mount) by adding entry in exports file

/backup -ro,access=war1

but from client i am getting permission denied error while issuing mount .

It is working file if i am exporting using exportfs -i -o ro,access=war1 /backup and i am able to mount from cleint .But how to add the same in /etc/exports ???

Both machines are hpux 11.23

Re: Filesharing issue on HPUX11.23

hi,

if you change some lines, or configuration in /etc/exports you should use exportfs -av

from the clinet you can check which directories are exported with this command :

showmount -e NFS_server

Shalom,

Can you provide the exact mount command used and the exact error message?

Check that name resolution on war1 works on both server and client.

Hi,

try by adding fully qualified hostname

/backup -ro,access=war1.xxx.com
