Firmware version

Hi, I'm using an AlphaServer DS20E running on Tru64 UNIX. I would like to know the lastest firmware version updated on my current system. Is there any command to do so?

Thank you.

Re: Firmware version

Open /var/adm/messages file and look for 'Firmware'.

Re: Firmware version

Thanks a lot for your reply. I'd opened this file and found there is a statement :
Firmware Revision: 5.8 - 10

and another statement

Firmware Revision 5.57 (loaded by console)

What does it means, does it means that my firmware version is 5.57, 5.8 or 10?

Thank you.

Re: Firmware version

Your version is most likely: "5.8 - 10" ('10' is not a version by itself)

You can verify this by checking the output of the 'sys_check' utility.

Re: Firmware version

Hi,

as BL suggested your Firmware is 5.8
The newest firmware you find on
http://ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/Alpha/firmware/
Download the image, burn it on CD and you will have the newest firmwares for the latest systems.

greetings,

Re: Firmware version

The best command to check firmware version on an Alpha is

# consvar -g version
