Format of hard disk

How can I format a hard disk in HP server operating in HP-UX?

What, exactly, does "format" mean to you?

Not a very detailed description of anything,
hardware or software. Usually a good start:

uname -a

Normally there is no "format" (compared to a PC) - you just create the structures of the volume manager.
