GUI session

Hi,

Can anybody tell me what is the process to enable GUI login over HPUX11.23 & HPUX11.31 ?

11.31 does not install CDE by default. You will need to get CDE from the OS DVD and install it if not installed.

To check:
swlist -l product | grep -i cde

swinstall to install.

Both OS.

check /etc/rc.config.d/xfs

First parameter needs to be set to 1 for auto start.

/sbin/init.d/xfs start

Unless something has changed since 11.11, or you have not explicitly disabled this, standard HPUX installation has this feature (called XDMCP broadcast) enabled. Look and see if dtlogin process is running. If it is running, you are good to go. After that point, it is upto your x-emulator to configure access to your hpux server(s) and it is different from one product to another, like exceed, reflection-x etc.
