Glance

I have a partition with 2 cells (in superdome), each cell have 4 CPU, total 8. But I have only 2 cpu active in each cells, totaly 4 cpu. If I run Glance only saw the activity in 2 CPU, i think that Glance only showme the 4 CPU in one cell. (2 activity and 2 off), but I need to see the activity to the other 2 cpu. I don't know if I need to install a patch for Glance???

Thanks.

Re: Glance

I think the glance itself can only show one cell's CPUs,no matter patch!

Re: Glance

Glance will only look at active CPUs. If the rest of the CPUs are inactive, then it will not be shown. Probably, you can see using top command?

Re: Glance

Are the 2 cells, essentially 2 different machines? If so, you need glance installed on both to see activity on both.

Re: Glance

I'm on thin ice here but if I understand you right you have a SD partition with 8 CPUs where only 4 are active. They happen to be 2 in each cell.
Just curious, are you using ICOD for deactivating the other CPUs?
I belive Glance should show 4 CPUs. What does top do?
An how many does 'ioscan -fk -C processor' report?

Re: Glance

hi,
Just now I saw my super dome one partion(cell1)
glance and top showing 3 active processors but ioscan shows all 8 processors.
as I know that we have paid for 3 cpus on cell1 so it is normal.
Did you take a backup?
