Re: Graphic Console Frozen
are you talking about the hwmgr command?
If you have got Tru Unix 4.X, you do not have that command.
You must stop the machine as root with init 0
Then, when you the >>> prompt, use show command.
Have you been in /var/adm/syslog.dated/current and looked into daemon.log and user.log. If there are any errors, not mentioned here, post them
greetings,
Michael

Re: Graphic Console Frozen
I checked the daemon.log and it gives the following message:
Mar 2 16:35:37 dasscws1 ttsession[13411]: Cannot register service: RPC: Timed out
Thanks

rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Remote system error - Connection refused
this is the message that rpcinfo -p showed.
Thanks

Re: Graphic Console Frozen
After it works with xdm/failsafe mode check network settings. Most likely nameresolution problems.
In case of your rpc error, be sure you have enabled NFS also starting the rpc system.
Try
# /sbin/init.d/nfs stop
# /sbin/init.d/nfs start
check if portmap daemon is still running afterwards, if not configure nfs! This means "check settings"....
