HIDS idsagent startup error

I am getting this error trying to start the idsagent: idsagent: failed to set IDDS_VERSION enviornment variable.
I tried to manually export the variable and start the agent, but got the same error in the error.log. I am on HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64 with the lates version of HIDS installed. It works fine on another machine. HIDS was installed at the same time on both machines.

For me, first you could try to troubleshoot this looking the guide

Does idsagent not start at boot or after the installation? Do you try to start it in debug enable etc?
Well I never test, but it seem that
/opt/ids/bin/IDS_checkInstall can verify that all required patches are installed.

The checkinstall didn't find anything. running in debug enable gave the error. it started after the initial install and reboot. Nothing changed on the server since then but when trying to start it now it gives the error about the IDDS_VERSION error.
