How do I add my internal SCSI 4mm HP DAT drive to mandrake 7.1. I try using makdev and I get nothing. I see the drive as part of the kernel known hardware at boot up, yet I cannot tar or cpio to the tape drive?

I'm not familiar with Mandrake.
Take a look in /dev and see if you have the following entries: and . If so,
then just make a soft link to it with rmt0.
ln -s st0 rmt0
and if you have the utility, try doing a and see if it responds.
