HP-EMC multipath.

Hi Gurus,

Am new in Storage environment. Just I want to know how can we check if multipathing is enabled on a HP server.

Server-HP Integrity with EMC symmetric-DMX storage.

It will be highly appreciated if you are give some more tips on EMC power path and multipath.

hi,

at first you should know which version do you have isntalled

server:/>swlist |grep -i power
EMCpower HP.4.5.0_b069 PowerPath IA64
EMCpower_patch451 HP.4.5.1_b001 PowerPath IA64
server:/>powermt version
EMC powermt for PowerPath (c) Version 4.5.1 (build 1)

and them to all version is a powerpath administration guide.

multipathing would be avaialble by default if you have more than one FC card.

Generally powerpath is used from EMC.
You can check this by

#powermt display dev=all

else alternative link from vgdisplay -v putput also suggest that some kind of multipathing is there.
