HP-UX 11.11 --> 11.31

Good Morning...

I'm just starting to look at this upgrade.. I know I can't go 11.11 direct to 11.31 but I'm wondering if anyone has heard of a script that might shed some insights into what might not be supported on my current 11.11 box... You know data protector version, service guard, if it went into Oracle versions that would be heaven...

Hi:

I don't know of any script for the purposes you describe. It would seem that consulting the appropriate product documentation would tell you what is the minimum version of things that are supported on 11.31.

At a more fundamental level, going from 11.11 to 11.31 is going to be a big jump. If you were to transition through 11.23, you could use the 'MSV2V3Check' (Mass Storage Check Utility) to verify that your hardware mass storage controllers will work on 11.31.

Regards!

Re: HP-UX 11.11 --> 11.31

Shalom,

The only version of Service Guard supported on the 11.11 box is 11.16. 11.19 is current on 11.31.

SysInfo, which is available after begging from HP support will provide you some of the information you seek.

swlist command, composed by you will provide more.

Oracle versions? You will need to use a script provided by Oracle, because Oracle doesn't install via SD/UX

Its a manual job, or a scripting challenge, depending on how you look at it.
