HP-UX 11.23 Console no response

All,
Im running HP-UX 11.23 on bl870 blade servers. Every so often when I login to the console I don't get any response. The only thing that works is Ctrl-B to bring me back to the MP. Is there a way to reset the console without rebooting the server. Here is an example of what I get


CO: Console
VFP: Virtual Front Panel
CM: Command Menu
SMCLP: Server Management Command Line Protocol
CL: Console Log
SL: Show Event Logs
HE: Main Help Menu
X: Exit Connection

At this point I get no prompt and no keyboard response.

you should call at the vfp and cl and sl to see what happened.

The SL does not show any errors. The VFP shows everything green with no errors. The CL shows the last command as :wq; like trying to write and quit a vi session.

Is the system up? Can you ssh/rlogin/telnet?

Yes the system is up and I can ssh in and everything works fine. It's just the console that is hung.

Did your machine use CDE(graphic interface) or not?

If so, pls. check your console output setting. Need check if VGA output have configured or not. But have to reboot server to EFI for checking.

Option 1)Try ssh from putty and run ps -ef |grep console. Kill the process i.d.

Option2 ) My HPUX server have same issue. Just reboot and interupt the boot, go to EFi. Then change the console from CTE/VGA to serial console. Will solve the issue permanently

to restart tghe console:
do

cm>
cm>xd
press r to restart the console.
this will restart the console.

also is valid to check if the console is configured to get the serial console or the CDE
