One of our HP-UX 11iv3 server fail to auto boot.
This is an BL870c blade server. It will go to the shell> prompt. then I need to specify the "boot from file" option manually to boot the system.
Please check the attached screen shot for details.

Solutionboot the system as now you are doing. Once booted use the setboot command with -p , -h and -a options so as to set the Primary path. HAA path and Alternate boot paths and make autoboot ON. Also use setboot -b on to set the autoboot on once the boot paths are set.
use setboot without options to check the setiings.

Re: HP-UX 11iv3 server fail to auto boot
looks your hpux box boot from a specific path.
do you have any idea is this remote path? from anywhere in SAN/NAS?
i believe you need to set this path somwhere to make it autoboot. thanks,
