HP-UX 11v3 Booting continuously after ignite recovery

I┬┤ve cloned a HP-UX system 11.31 Itanium using Ignite-ux. The instalation was ok, but after finishing the system boots repeatedly after all servicer are loaded. See below the message:

Starting the HPUX Webproxy subsystem ......................... N/A
Starting HP-UX XML Web Server Tools .......................... OK
Start kwdbd .................................................. N/A
Start HP Virtual Machine Guest Libraries ..................... OK
Starting OVTrcSrv ............................................ OK
Start LVM daemon ............................................. OK
............................................................. BOOT

Reboot of system has been requested -- rebooting...

I have boot in single user mode and commented all /etc/fstab entries from non existent vgs and updated /etc/lvmtab with vgscan -a.

Any ideas?

Re: HP-UX 11v3 Booting continuously after ignite recovery

Well you should start by reviewing /etc/rc.log to see if it offers any more clues. I don't think the issue is with the LVM deamon startup as you do get an "OK" message out of that...

Would also be worth checking if there is anything useful in  /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log (contents for the time in question might have been moved to /var/adm/syslog/OLDsyslog.log.)

Re: HP-UX 11v3 Booting continuously after ignite recovery

Hi Duncan, Thanks for the reply. Turns out the reboot was being requested by a Hitachi software used for BCV. The software was used on the original machine. I moved the start/stop scripts from /sbin/rcX.d and now the machine boots ok. Thank you!
